Welcome to the K-96 Corridor Development Association

This four lane, 58 mile, limited access highway is one of the most traveled of any highway in the state of Kansas and offers excellent opportunities for all types of development.

The corridor spans two counties, Reno and Sedgwick, and intersects four communities, South Hutchinson, Haven, Mount Hope and Maize. With this excellent transportation link between two of Kansas largest cities, Wichita and Hutchinson, the development along the corridor is sure to happen.

In 2004 the K-96 Corridor Study Coalition, consisting of the counties of Reno and Sedgwick, and the cities of South Hutchinson, Haven, Mt. Hope and Maize, was established.

The purpose of the coalition was to provide funding and guidance for the development of an economic development plan for the K-96 corridor between Maize, in Sedgwick County, to a point Northwest of Hutchinson in Reno County.

The plan was completed and accepted by the coalition in 2005. The completed plan included guidelines for the orderly development along the corridor.

In January of 2006 the K-96 Corridor Development Association, Inc., a private not-for-profit corporation, was formed to manage the implementation of the plan.

The founding members of the Coalition provided funding to establish an executive director position to assist in the daily management of the Association and the implementation of the plan.
